Developer/Programmer

LMN Solutions is seeking great Software Engineers with a current security clearance experienced in a significant subset of the following:

The project is an initiative to aggregate and integrate data sources across the CUSTOMER into a single framework as an analytic environment to enhance the targeting and technical analysis tradecraft. The selected Developer will work on the development of a big data framework platform. The selected candidate will apply his/her development experience against big data projects in combination with Agile practices in order to help the development team continuously innovate and incrementally deliver system functionality. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for determining the appropriate data models, transformational technologies, and algorithms needed to advance CUSTOMER tradecraft.
The candidate must have an understanding of big data challenge. The candidate must have the ability to work in a mixed technical environment and maintain productivity when switching between languages or technologies. The candidate must work well in a team environment and have the desire to develop software in an agile fashion. The candidate must also be able to communicate well within the development team and externally to both management and other organizations.

Mandatory Skills:
Expert in Java (approximately 5+ years)
Experience with Scripting Programming Languages, such as Perl, Python, Ruby
Understanding of big data challenges
Experience with data analysis and integration
Experience with agile software development practices (unit testing, continuous integration, static analysis)

Desired Skills:
Experience with Hadoop (HDFS, Map/Reduce)
Experience with NoSQL technologies (such as HBASE, Cassandra, Accumulo)
Experience with NoSQL Data Warehouse technologies (such as HIVE)
Experience using Open Source Search Engines and writing Queries against large data holdings (such as Lucene and SOLr)
Experience working with very large datasets on clustered environments
Experience with ETL (transforming data) – Pentaho a plus
Experience with Web Services (such as Spring and RESTful)
Experience with Open Source Programming Language / Open Source Web Framework (Ruby, Rails)
Experience with Web Scripting Language (JavaScript)
Experience with Web Style Sheet Language (CSS)
Experience with markup languages (XML, JSON, JEMA)
